Tasks are records now, and notes no longer wait for a meeting
Tasks are a record type of their own now, with their own stages, their own links to people and deals, and a place in reports. Notes from a call that was never on your calendar get a meeting record made for them. Creating any record opens in a side panel, AI Actions is quicker to work through, and you choose which connected account sends your invites and gets your notifications.
Two things this week stop being special cases. A task used to be a note with a status on it, and it borrowed everything else from notes. And meeting notes could only be filed if the meeting was already on your calendar, so a call you took on the fly had nowhere to go. Both have a home of their own now.
Tasks are a record type of their own
Tasks now stand alongside contacts, companies, and deals as a record type in their own right. A task moves through a pipeline of stages, the same kind of pipeline a deal does. It links directly to the contacts, companies, meetings, and files it is about, and it shows up in the sidebar, on the calendar, and on the dashboard as itself.
That reaches the agent too. It reads a task as a task, in meeting prep and in chat. And tasks join the sources you can build a report on, along with every custom object you have created, which appears in the report builder and in chat the moment it exists.
Every org has been moved over, and your existing tasks kept their history, their dates, and their links along the way.
Notes that arrive without a meeting
There is a new setting in Settings under Meeting summaries, Capture notes without a calendar meeting. Turn it on and when a Zoom or Fathom recap, or notes from Granola, arrive for a call that is not on your calendar, Ahoy creates the meeting record itself, files the notes against it, and runs the same follow-up it would for any other meeting.
A meeting Ahoy created this way carries a Not on calendar badge, so you always know why a meeting you never scheduled is in your CRM. The setting is off by default and is yours alone. Nothing appears unless you asked for it.
Creating a record opens beside you
Creating a contact, company, deal, or custom record now opens in a side panel, with every field full width in a single column, instead of a modal in the middle of the screen. Start a second create from inside it, a new company while you are adding a contact, and the first form waits with everything you typed intact. Files can be attached from the create form too, rather than after the record exists.
AI Actions, easier to get through
The AI Actions list is grouped by priority, newest first within each band. Opening an action opens the record it is about alongside it, or the email thread it came from, so you are not clicking through to see what you are approving. The record you are looking at is highlighted wherever it appears, action cards are numbered in the order you see them, and the footer takes up less room.
An action whose changes are already in place dismisses in one click. Untick part of a proposal and it tells you what will not happen, and ticking it again brings its links back. In a proposal with several actions, one that cannot be applied no longer holds up the rest, and an action that stops partway reports what happened rather than waiting on a timer. Chat history, meanwhile, collapses to an edge strip when you want the space back.
Which account speaks for you
If the email you log in with is not the email of the calendar you connected, you can now say so. A Notification email setting chooses which connected account receives Ahoy's emails, and a Default booking calendar setting chooses which calendar your booking pages create events on. Booking invites go out from that calendar's own address, and cancelling a booking removes it from the calendar it was created on.
Also this week
- Phone numbers without a country code resolve using your org's region on import, on sync, and in the phone field's country picker, so 347-486-2869 in a US org is stored as a US number
- Saved-view pills are real links, so a view opens in a new tab with a middle click, and on pipeline boards they sit across the strip rather than inside a More menu
- Contact and record pages fetch only what they render, so records with a lot of history open faster
- Live chat replies come back faster
- Clicking View from an AI action replaces the open panel instead of stacking another on top, and only a click from inside a panel builds a stack
- Travel blocks, Busy holds, and other meetings with nobody else in them no longer set off the agent, and several cancelled meetings with the same customer are handled as one
- A CSV import maps a stage name that exists in more than one pipeline to the pipeline you are importing into
- The CSV fix-up screen offers a country picker for a phone column that is being created by the import
Fixes
And the quieter half: the polish that adds up across a week in Ahoy.
- Deleting a large selection from a list removes every row you selected in one go
- An email sends with its signature exactly once, and agent-drafted emails keep their bullet lists as lists with no stray blank line before the sign-off
- An email that reached you through more than one connected account shows once on a contact's timeline
- Converted deal amounts use the latest published exchange rates
- AI Actions sorts newest first everywhere, across the whole queue
- Opening a note shows a loading state while it loads, instead of a blank panel
- A chat with an image or PDF attached goes to a model that can read it
- Clearing your agent guidance clears it for the agent too
- Content cards for a contact, company, or deal with nothing beneath the name show compact, instead of a row of empty placeholders
