Feature Improvement Fix

Make-it-yours week: a restructured sidebar, views that save when you say so, and every list has a link

This week Ahoy bends to how you work. The sidebar was restructured around what you actually open, saved views now wait for you to commit a change, list filters live in the URL so you can send someone the exact view you are looking at, and you can set your own default view and columns per object.

Call this one make-it-yours week. Nothing here asks you to learn a new workflow - it is the workspace itself getting out of your way: a sidebar organized around what you actually open, views that change only when you say so, links that carry your filters with them, and fields you can fix without opening a form.

A sidebar built around what you open

The side navigation was restructured. CRM keeps your contacts, companies, deals, and custom objects together. A new Activity section gathers Notes, Tasks, and Meetings, and Tasks is now a top-level item with your task pipelines listed under it. Reports sits below a divider on its own. Entities with a single pipeline link straight to that pipeline instead of a stop on the way, and Help is reachable from the collapsed sidebar too.

Views that save when you say so

Saved views used to keep up with you automatically: narrow one to answer a question, and it kept the change. Now they wait for you. Edits to the view you are looking at stay local until you commit them, so a shared view stays the way its owner left it while everyone else explores from it.

While you have uncommitted edits the view pill shows an Unsaved changes dot, and you choose what happens next: Save changes, Save as new view, or Discard. If the view belongs to someone else, Save as new view is right there.

Every list has a link

Filters, sort, and search now live in the URL on CRM lists and the pipeline board. Copy the address bar and whoever opens it sees exactly what you were looking at. Reload and you land back in the same place, filtered from the first query rather than flashing everything first. Back and forward move between views the way you would expect. Unsaved changes to a view ride in the link too, so you can send someone a view you have not saved.

Your defaults, per object

Set any saved view as your default for contacts, companies, deals, or a custom object, and that is what opens when you click into the list. Column order and visibility stick per object as well, for the times you are not in a saved view at all. These are yours alone - your defaults do not move anyone else's.

Editing in place, everywhere else

In July the table learned to take an edit where you stood. Now the rest of the CRM has caught up. Fields on a record's overview are editable where they sit: click the value, change it, done. Pipeline cards got it too - rename a card inline, and set its owner from the card itself instead of opening the record to do it.

Tasks opened up

Opening a task gives you a real detail sidebar: title, due date, and assignee edited in place, a description with proper formatting, attachments you can add and download (all at once if you want), an activity trail of what happened, and Mark complete pinned to the footer.

Also this week

  • Reports and dashboards can be shared by link, and a shared report shows exactly what its creator can see - authors can also mark dimensions as viewer filters, so a reader can narrow a tile without opening the editor
  • Answer an agent's clarifying questions and it refines the proposal from your answers
  • When every change an agent proposes is already in place, the proposal tells you it is up to date instead of asking you to approve nothing
  • Text filters gained contains any: one clause for a list of terms, instead of a filter group per term
  • Creating a related record from inside a create form no longer creates it early - parent and children save together, and cancelling creates nothing
  • Merging a record that had already been merged now works instead of failing the same way on every retry
  • The chat list shows which conversations are still running, so a long answer is easy to find your way back to
  • Video files upload, and an email draft tells you when its attachments are too big to send
  • Admins can set org-wide agent guidance in settings, and edit each member's guidance from the same place
  • Join meeting appears as soon as a call has a link, instead of hiding until 15 minutes before
  • Long values in single-line CRM fields expand while you edit them, so pasted content is not invisible

Fixes

And the quieter half: the polish that adds up across a week in Ahoy.

  • Brand-colored text and icons are readable in dark mode
  • Date pickers stay inside the window, and long email previews scroll
  • Signatures on Microsoft 365 send exactly as they read in the draft
  • Pipeline cards show the owner avatar on custom objects, not just deals, and the card whose record is open is highlighted
  • Reports sort by pipeline stage in your pipeline's order rather than the alphabet
  • Agent messages link to artifacts instead of printing raw markdown
